Precautions for the use of acryloyl chloride

Acryloyl chloride is a flammable liquid chemical, and its hazardous properties cannot be ignored. The irritating effects on the skin and eyes are also worth noting, as eye contact can cause moderate irritation reactions.

Acryloyl chloride poses an explosion hazard during storage and transportation. When mixed with air, it may cause a violent explosion. In addition, it is extremely flammable when exposed to open flames, high temperatures, or oxidants. During combustion, it releases toxic chloride smoke and decomposes to produce toxic hydrogen chloride gas at high temperatures.

During storage, acryloyl chloride requires good ventilation in the warehouse to ensure a low temperature and dry state. At the same time, special attention should be paid to storing it separately from oxidants, acids, and bases to avoid potential chemical reactions and hazards.

In case of an accident, dry powder, dry sand, carbon dioxide, foam or 1211 extinguishing agent shall be used to extinguish the fire to ensure safe and effective control of the fire.
